Jurassic World 4 Gets Back On Track With Rogue One Director

Gareth Edwards is in talks to direct Jurassic World 4 after an initial setback with the previous director.

The movie is currently set for a July 2, 2025 release with no production start date announced yet.

The untitled Jurassic World 4 marks a new chapter in the franchise written by David Koepp.

Following a brief hiccup in its development, Gareth Edwards is next in line to direct Jurassic World 4. The next movie in the iconic dinosaur franchise is set to launch a "new era" for the property, with original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp returning to pen the script for it. Deadpool 2's David Leitch was in talks to helm next Jurassic World movie, though he ultimately parted ways a few days after negotiations began due to creative differences between himself and Universal Pictures.

We've now confirmed that Gareth Edwards is in talks to direct Jurassic World 4 for Universal and Amblin Entertainment. Edwards, perhaps best known for his work on the Star Wars anthology movie, Rogue One, is fresh off the critical success of his sci-fi action movie The Creator, which is up for two Oscar nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound. The untitled Jurassic World 4 is still set for a July 2, 2025 release date, though no production start date has been announced as of the time of writing.
